Departure Procedures
Section titled “Departure Procedures”- Do not turn any departure from the heading assigned by Local Control if that turn reduces lateral separation between the departure and the extended runway centerline.
- All departures: climb to 10,000 ft and flash to ZME LO unless otherwise specified.
Arrival Procedures
Section titled “Arrival Procedures”- Transfer arrivals to Local Control no sooner than 15 NM and no later than 5 NM from the airport.
- When Final Radar (FR) is not staffed: WR may conduct approaches/runway assignments to the west runway; ER may conduct approaches for the east runway — without coordination.
- During single-runway operations: WR sequences to 18R/36L; ER sequences to 18L/36R.
- ER and WR must ensure positive separation until aircraft are established on final.
Position Responsibilities
Section titled “Position Responsibilities”When FR is staffed — handoff altitudes to FR:

Release aircraft to FR for descent and turns after entering FR airspace.
- Assumes control of aircraft only within FR airspace unless coordinated.
- Once within FR airspace: turns toward the Final Approach Course may be made.
- FR must not make turns away from the Final Approach Course until the aircraft is within FR airspace’s vertical boundary.
- When FR is staffed: owns 4,000 ft within lateral limits of FR airspace; 4,500 ft for VFR altitude assignments.
