Ground Control — HSV ATCT

Operational Area

Ground Control has jurisdiction over all movement areas of the airport as depicted.

Responsibilities

1. Issue clearances and instructions for aircraft on designated movement areas or adjacent to the active runway.
2. Maintain continuous surveillance of the movement area.
3. Issue taxi clearances (and progressive instructions when requested) for departing aircraft.

Runway Crossings

Ground must verbally coordinate with Local Control, stating the runway and intersection:

GND → LC: “Local, Ground — crossing runway [X] at [intersection].”

Advise LC of taxiing aircraft requesting an intersection departure.
