ZFW-ZME Letter of Agreement

a. Departures less than 5 minutes flying time from the common boundary shall be verbally coordinated.

b. Planned flow changes shall be coordinated at least 15 minutes prior.

  • During events, flow changes shall be communicated TMU-TMU, TMU-CIC, or CIC-CIC. Each unit shall ensure the change is communicated to each respective ATCS/facility.
  • Outside events, coordination shall be accomplished via the built-in ATC chat system in controller clients.

c. ZFW controllers shall advise the other ARTCC of the current flow at D10. When ZFW is offline, controllers shall follow the real-world flow.

d. Each ARTCC may change transponder codes upon initial contact.

e. Radar handoff acceptance constitutes approval for aircraft climbing or descending to the requested or interim altitude appropriate for direction of flight. Changes after radar acceptance shall be coordinated verbally.

f. All RNAV-capable turbojet aircraft shall be cleared in accordance with the flow charts at the end of this publication.

g. Sector altitude stratification: FL230 and below = Low; FL240 and above = High, with the following exceptions:

SectorStratification
Drake (DAK) — Ultra-HighFL350 and above
Greenwood (GWO) — Ultra-HighFL350 and above
Little Rock (LIT) — Ultra-HighFL350 and above
Union (UNN) — Ultra-HighFL360 and above
Majors (MJR) — Ultra-HighFL360 and above
Hugo (HGO) — Ultra-HighFL360 and above
Klubb (KLB) — Ultra-HighFL360 and above

Each ARTCC shall release control for 15° turns within 15 NM of the common boundary, with the following exceptions:

  • Aircraft landing DFWT entering ZFW 42 (DEC-H) shall be released for turns.
  • All underlying TRACONs shall have control on contact from the ARTCC.
  • HOT-L releases control to TXK-L for TXK arrivals.

ZME will ensure aircraft landing within ZFW are assigned a route/altitude per the table below.
